Using the 30 and 60 second commercial format, this artist portrays the spirit and essence of men who carry on the traditions of an individualistic way of life: NEW ENLGAND FISHERMEN. The subjects of these “advertisements” of real people life and work in the fishing communities of Gloucester and Boston. They tell their own stories, and they include personal accounts of adventure, the many changes from generation to generation among fathers and sons, special remedies for seasickness, and legal restrictions that make fishing an “endangered” occupation (unskilled by definition) in today’s commercial market.
