My beautiful laundrette

This film was made primarily by young people, some of whom were working in the film industry for the first time. The film is about young people in Great Britain and a minority group i.e. Asians, who are not normally covered in films. It presents a picture of Great Britain that is not usually shown abroad, therefore its freshness and original insight might be illuminating to those outside Britain.
