Mother V

Hana Vazana, a religious woman in her 60s, leaves Dimona to visit her son Menahem, who is locked up in solitary confinement in Ashkelon, charged with revealing state secrets. She sets out, despite family opposition, to persuade her son to apologise to his father who is lying in intensive care. Along the way, fraught with obstacles, she joins up with a Bedouin youth who helps her learn the truth about her son, about herself, and to achieve independence for the first time in her life.
