Stories of Catalonia is a documentary series on the history of everyday life. The main actors are not kings or politicians. They are everyday people who once lived in Catalonia. We have chosen ordinary people because we want viewers to identify with them. In fact, the question we want the audience to ask themselves is: if I had lived during the Age of Chivalry, the peasant uprising during the Muslim rule, what would my life have been like? This series is thematically structured, focusing on aspects of daily life such as the sea, religion, language, cities, power, money, work, weather, art, the place of women, war, family and population. But despite this thematic approach, a strong sense of history is also maintained throughout. That is why each episode covers particular historical moments in dealing with its main theme. The series is carefully designed to span Catalonia’s entire history.
