It is only in recent years that a Greenland theatrical company, TUKAQ, has been founded. The theatre and its school in situated in Jutland, Denmark, but the idea is in a few years to form a theatrical centre in Greenland. The actors are Greenlanders, the leader Reidar Nilsson, a Norwegian actor, has had most of his education in the famous “Odin Theatre Laboratory”, also in Jutland. The Tukaq Theatre performs a drama founded on the myths of Grennland, “Inuit” (which is “MAN” in the Greenland language). “Inuit” is about the chaos created in the seal-catching escimo-culture by the white man with all his technology and superior knowledge.
