This film was shot almost exclusively with undercover cameras by a reporter and researchers posing as football hooligans. It proved for the first time how small gangs or firms of hooligans premeditated violence and showed them in the process of organising such fights It included dramatic sequences shot in cars where the hooligans detailed previous fights and attacks they had organised. The programme showed the link between hooligan groups and far right extremists and showed the groups linking up to attack a peaceful march yards from 10 Downing Street. Programme staff were asked to act as key witnesses in follow up prosecutions of the hooligans, prosecutions based entirely on the filmed evidence from the programme. Two hooligans were subsequently convicted and jailed for a total of 13 years for conspiring to organise violence, the first time the police have achieved such prosecutions.
