The former DEFA director, Sibylle Schönemann, was sent into different GDR prisons after her arrest in 1984, because she had filed an application to leave the country. Her freedom was payed by the West German government and 5 years after this event, she returns – equipped with a camera – to the places where her deprive of citizenship took place. She searches for the people responsible at that time, asks questions which were not answered in those days. She has impressive conversations in the STASI prisons, in detention, at court which show an important chapter of Germany history. The film in its personal tendency is a very actual issue, because it reflects such terrifying purity the stability of former political structures.
