The hero of the film is Alexander Ivashkov, a militiaman from a small Russian town where all the inhabitants are neighbors. Here is an excerpt from the film: To bounce a cop was always considered an honorable deed in Russia. At home, Ivashkov was no longer an official. Not long ago, local hooligans used to provoke him to fight by shouting “Come on, fucking cop!” outside his windows. He took the challenge and often won. However, if he was outnumbered, he also got a beating. The enemies left to celebrate their victory, while Ivashkov tried to recover. In the morning he arrested them, sleepy and hungover, and placed them in the nip. At home, a delegation of relatives were already waiting for him. They came as good-willed neighbors, with vodka. It was impossible to refuse and Ivashkov released everyone. We consider this fragment the key to understanding the main character and the essence of the film.
