Antananarivo, capital city of Madagascar. At the rehabilitation centre of Antananarivo, Joseph, 15 years old, has been imprisoned for a year for stealing a watch. He awaits judgement. For stealing a shawl, Victorien, 17 years old, has cleared a six-month penalty at the Antananarivo Prison among 4,000 adults. He failed to prove he was a minor. Amazed at the startling gap between the punishment and the crime, Oliver Ballande and Alice Mallet decided to follow, day after day, Joseph and Victorien´s steps in the Madagascan judicial system. They testify to the fate reserved to this generation of children in one of the most underdeveloped countries in the world. Justice is the picture of a stolen generation.
