I can still hear the drums -- Festival 78

Festival 78 was a cultural offshoot of the XI Commonwealth Games held in Edmonton, Alberta, August, 1978. This program is a record of the Festival and includes performances and interviews with participants and organizers. Festival 78 enabled a variety of Commonwealth countries which because of limited finances, or athletic resources, would not have otherwise been represented at an event previously limited to sport activities. As Mr. S. Ramphal, Secretary-General for the Commonwealth stated, the first gold medal of the XI Commonwealth Games was won by Festival 78.
