Hormones!

Hormones! is a dramedy series about post-fertile life and never-ending parenthood. The middle-aged female gynecologist Elena is hit hard by her menopause and psychotherapist Patrik is suffering from depression. In a weak moment they start a relationship, which seems doomed to fail as both have problematic ex-partners and needy adult children. Hormones affect everyone’s behavior, but do they explain it? These main protagonists both try to weather the storm of their physical and psychological changes as each has reached their version of menopause. There are other characters also with their own hormones: both Elena and Patrik have somewhat demanding grown-up and teenage children, mothers, fertile friends and ex-spouses. Hormones! seeks to shed a comedic light on both the female and male menopause and at the same time the everyday struggles of divorced families, modern parenting, and the emotional struggles that follow. Hormones! — Could they sometimes shout a bit more quietly?
