Some times we kill so easily. Some times we almost worship animals as sacred. The real hunter may do both at the same time. But with no big words, no grand gesticulation. The Nordic hunter does it in his own down-to-earth, unpretentious way. For the non-hunter it may be hard to comprehend the simultaneous absence of both compassion and evil. Just pure concentration. A state of total presence. Could 24 minutes of running videotape capture any of this? With no cuts, no editing, no effects, no fancy? Just a moose hunter with his dog, and TV-presenter Trond Berg trying to interpret what is happening. Would that get us any closer to the evasive ´spirit of hunting´? We gave it a try.
