God is fire

Filmed in Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, Cuba, Nicaragua and Brazil. It is a documentary about a new Church that is growing in Latin America, about Theology Liberation in action, in celebration. Its introduction shows the sincretism of the popula catholicism with the American Indian and African religions.With the creation of community bases, the Church tries to free itself from its traditional alliance with the dominant classes. The celebrations of the peasants and workers in Brazil shows how the preferential option for the poor is done. In Nicaragua we can see how the alliance between Sandinists and Catholics was forged, and the conflict between the hierarchy that opposes the regime, and the sandinist priests. Andes Indian universe reafirms the religious feeling of the continent and the relation of its people with Nature and mother Earth.
