Gaston Chaissac, (1910-1964) prolific sketcher, painter, writer, inspired inventor of plastic and literary forms, left diverse work. He used the most varied techniques on the most unusual materials, such as exercise books, zinc sheets, crushed pans and cupboard doors. The originality of his work, the liberty he claimed and his solitary life may explain why he never gained public acknowledgement despite the support of friends such as Raymond Queneau and Jean Dubuffet. The first film portrait of Gaston Chaissac restores his artistic, familial and personal universe, going to and from his words and his work.
