Fractured variations

FRACTURED VARIATIONS is, among other things, a video dance homage to the great film choreographers Fred Astaire and Busby Berkeley. It creates a new kind of choreography through the use of video paintbox special effects. VISUAL SHUFFLE is an incredibly fast-paced dance made up of fragment and movement of bodies edited together to create the dance. Max Almy´s PERFECT LEADER is a snappy music parody of political image-making. Following the directions of a cynical television director, a computer manufactures a political candidate and the marketing strategies to sell him. NINE PERSON PRECISION BALL PASSING- crossing the boundaries between dance and sport, Charles Moulton has choreographed this piece for nine dancers and ten balls. It is exuberant and complex and becomes a metaphor for the way communities (of dancers or individuals) work together.
