Foreign Objects is a new six-episode series from Kenny Finkleman, whose earlier series, the Newsroom and More Tears, were INPUT hits. In this series, each half-hour episode is a self-contained short story. Each touches on one of culture's obsessions: body image, celebrity, tragedy and social structure. They are linked by Finkleman's documentary film-making alter ego, George, who is a disconnected observer, and they are underpinned by a devastating critique of our media saturated world. Episode three, the black comedy 'Celebrity' takes satirical aim at our obsession with celebrity through the Second Coming. Christ is a prized catch for ambitious publicists and greedy networks. How would the Second Coming be treated in today's celebrity-drenched culture? How would you package Jesus Christ? It's the Vatican versus the publicists. Naturally, Christ gets crucified all over again.
