'Forbidden Love' is part of a weekly program aimed at a young audience. The frame is called U Land (Land of Youth) and is a weekly three-hour slot aired on Wednesday nights. The aim of U-Land is to engage the audience in topic discussions and to research the culture of young people today. 'Forbidden Love' touches on a very delicate question of different cultures and ethnic origin. The program is a distinct contribution to the discussion about second generation immigrants – should they maintain their original culture or should they adopt Danish customs and culture? What happened when Lubna from a traditional Muslim family clashes with the emancipated Danish youth culture? And how does TV cope with the situation? Can the ethnic Danish presenter be a neutral observer and researcher into Lubna´s life – without being biased or without interfering in the private life of Lubna and her family? There are some very surprising answers given to these questions in 'Forbidden Love', and towards the end of the program even more surprising questions are raised!
