In this 12 minutes cinemacospe “epic”, Ardal O´Hanlon is in terrific form as Eddie Manson, a toe tapping, jive-talking farmer´s boy in 50´s rural Ireland, who talks exclusively in B-movies clichés, saves the nation from alien invaders, and win the heart of American tourist, Lana. Shot in pristine black & white as a secondary tribute to American B-Movies of the 50´s and with appropriate corny special effects (well, whatdo you want for 18,000£), the film is actually based on a song from that era, recorded under a pseudonym by one of rock´s biggest artists of the time. The film shamlessly “steals” from movie classic like “High School Confidential”, “Plan 9 from Outer Space” and “Rebel Without a Cause”, but with great affection.
