Flashback Studio

This innovative hybrid format comedy series for children combines live-action comedy with spectacular anime animation. The series presents history to viewers in an innovative, original, and thought-provoking way. In this family-owned, ragtag animation studio called ‛Flashback Studio’, Alex and Naomi, two complete opposites, are trying to survive animation production — but especially each other. Also working with them in the studio is Sol, a teenage sound design protégé. She knows creative ways to produce sound effects for practically everything in the world. And she doesn’t cut corners even when she needs a WWII fighter engine. The newest recruit on the team is the good-hearted, not-so-bright social media star Nero, who was hired for dubbing but is mostly busy with the number of his followers. In each episode, the studio creates an animated short film about a fascinating historical figure or event. Through the episodes, the historical stories — those that are familiar as well as those introduced for the first time — are given an original, comic, and energetic tone.
