'If it wasn´t for the camera I would say we didn´t lift our butts in time.' This is how one of the soldiers of a reserve company summarizes the extent of emotions and intimacy revealed before Michal Aviad´s camera. 'Ever Shot Anyone?' documents the filmmaker´s attempt to infiltrate the isolated world of the military reserve soldiers Company H, serving a tour of duty along the Syrian border on the Golan Heights. 32 days inside the bunkers and guard posts, on patrols and inside the soldiers´ living quarters present a unique glimpse into these men´s lives as civilian-soldiers away from home. Gradually, and not without a degree of suspicion, the soldiers, aged 35-45, reveal before the woman in their midst, their notions of male identity, camaraderie, family and women. 'Ever Shot Anyone?' is a humorous and ironic look at Israeli male culture as seen through the eyes of the ultimate outsider – a woman.
