Elite

The film “Elite” is an attempt to take a closer look at the people who make up the business, power and intellectual elite of Russia. It is an attempt to get to know better the values and principles they live by, the hope they cherish and the things they fear. The authors of the film try to bring to public notice the fact that in the process of post-Gorbachov reform, a new social class in Russia is taking shape. It may be called the “elite” or the “establishment” and it lacks certain inherent features which such phonemena in the West. However, the authors believe that the period of social chaos in Russia is gradually coming to the point of stabilization. The new group of leaders in every field of life can already be indentified and the film presents some of them to us.
