Eddie Holm's second life

Eddie Holm is sensitive, unusually musical person, whose childhood and youth have been filled with one grotesque event after another. As early as the age of one he feels his life is dedicated to music. At school he is admitted to the school orchestra as a trumpeter, and astonishes everyone with his fantastic talent. But reality catches up with him in all its brutality and turns his beautiful music-making into a nuisance for his surroundings. After a catastrophic debut at the Concert Hall Eddie decides to bid this cold world farewell. But that’s too much, for God; he turns to Eddie and offers him the chance of starting all over again—which proves to be a highly instructive experience for Eddie and God alike.
