Disappeared Ones

Based on a song by Rubén Blades, the video 'Disappeared Ones' fits the usual expresive models of the video clip and tries to present a critical vision of the drama actually suffored by thousands of persons who have dissapeared in violent fights between the peruvian army forses and the 'Shiming Path' guerrilleres. The narrative structure of the video combines the fiction with the documentary report of certain situations wich ocour in the very same place where the events happen and mixes then with pieces of file images (previously issued by the peruvian television) creating thus and impression of natural continuity. The video was virtually censured to be show on the peruvian television. 'Disappeared Ones' won the national Video Prize of Perú. It was finalist in the Havana Film Festival for the prize 'Saul Yelin' awarded by the Latin American Filmmaker Comittee. It was shown in private session in the First Film and Video Festival of the Río de Janeiro, Brasil and got a big evation.
