The project began as a call for simplicity, a return to the indispensable elements of film making: a camera, film, sound and, of course, something to say. Thus was born the idea of 'Diminutos'- 'Ten Minutes - The Calvary Tinies' one minute films made with only the most minimal and necessary resources, while at the same time meeting high quality projection standards. Ten directors came together with backgrounds as diverse as the ideas they brought with them. Film students, experienced producers of commercials, experimental filmmakers and documentarians all faced the same challenge: to portray an idea on film - whether it be a story, a feeling, or a moment - in one minute, in one shot. For those directors who were just beginning their career, it was an opportunity to delve into film making in all its stages: from the conception of the idea, to pre-production, production and post production. On the other hand, more experienced directors faced the challenge of returning to the bare minimum and encountering face to face the measure of time which can seem like an eternity: a minute.
