The programme “Death on the rock” was an investigation into the shootings in Gibraltar of three I.R.A. members, Danny McCann, Sean Savage and Mairead Farrell. This was an event which, as we say in the programme “provoked intense debate not only in Britain but throughout the world”. The question raised in the programme were: did the SAS when they killed the terrorists act to save their lives or the livers of others? Or were the SAS simply eliminating a group of terrorists outside the due process of the rule of law?
