Two weird-looking, neo-conservative Danish men travel to the U.S. during the 2004 presidential election to campaign for the re-election of George W Bush. Dressed up in red and white suits, they give away buttons with festive slogans such as “Al Qaeda don’t surf” and hand out balloons supporting Bush. They drive an RV vehicle from Los Angeles to New York to attend the Republican convention. Sometimes they dress up in a big, inflatable plastic balloon costume, a combination of a Viking and a piglet, and walk around greeting people at malls. On their way they hang out with a diverse mix of Republicans and exchange opinions on Republican policy. In reality the two men are undercover journalists working on a very advanced satirical level, but they never give it away and they never make any off screen comments on what they experience. The background for undertaking this venture is their indignation of the Danish government uncritically taking part in the coalition forces in Iraq. This series is a sort of political current affairs satire, where the people involved never realize the real nature of the two gatecrashers, and some of the viewers don’t either.
