Class Pictures

This documentary shows an unusual meeting between two classes of schoolgirls in Brussels, from two separate and contrasting circles. On one side, a group of young middle-class Belgian girls from the Lycee Mater Dei, on the other, a group of young immigrants, mainly North African girls, from a professional school. The film has been made with the direct participation of the teacher and the pupils of this second group. The filming crew has proposed the meetings itself, to make sensitive the states of mind of the girls before, during and after the contact. Here, television, rather than being used as a dangerous intensifier for the extremists and racists, tries to pass beyond the apriorism and common places.
