Children of the silent night

A documentary on congenital deaf-blind children. This year, the National Theatre of Antwerp produced the play 'After the miracle'. Principal characters are Helen Keller and her teacher Ann Sullivan. The latter worked out the basic principles to make deaf-blind persons able to comunicate. The film follows the search of the two actresses. In a special school in Sint Michiels Gestel They learn the hand-alphabet, Braille and lipreading. The crew filmed the diferent stages of the years- during training of deaf- blind children. We also make the acquaintance of a deaf-blind girl, 23 years of age, who served as a model for the part of Helen Keller.
