What has the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child accomplished ten years after the ratification? Four children, all affected by war or violence, are portrayed in this programme. They are Veton from Kosovo - a heavily war-traumatized kid; Raul from Guatemala - traumatized from years of civil war; Alfred from Uganda - abducted and trained as a rebel soldier; and Sharif from New Orleans, USA - wrongfully accused of murder and put on death row. On a deeper level, the programme also raises some unpleasant questions about adult cruelty towards children. The theme of the programme is unquestionably urgent. Is this television programme about the four children able to move us and make us take action? Can any television programme at all give rise to any changes?
