Carmen is the portrait of a man named Kurt Raij Jansson, an intimate look at a person lost in a dream that must not come true. Carmen is no clebrity, he is not a star not a hero, but a man lost in a dream, one that provides him vitality and power as long as it does not come true. For the past 40 years Carmen has been working on a musical about Space, and his sacrifices to this end have been many: crounging, starving, doing carpentry, sewing, composing music, collecting odds and ends, doing whatever necessary to survive within this dream, within this musical . He fills his life and his apartment whith junk, Things he possesses -yet elements in a creation by which he himself is possessed. His very life is a chaos being transformed into his dream... Into his Space Musical. Wouldn´t it have been better if TV had a allowed him to remain in his private dream- world?
