The National Theatre directed by Jean Valmont is a small travelling theatre performing in the villages of the centre of France. Jean Valmon is a father, a husband, a friend for his actors, and the director of the whole thing. When he dies, besides the deep grief the touring company has to face a hard problem: how can their theatre survive after the death of its father? Who can play his role on the scene and in life? Who will direct and encourage the others? The company is performing “La dame aux Camélias” for the first time after Valmont’s death.
