Joan Marti. Painter; self-taught. Fitter retrained in petry on canvas. Artist-worker-craftsman. Revolutionary, anarchist within his own structure… The day PARTI stopped working in the workshop above which he still lives, he entered into religion – he withdrew – he became a hermit of painting. To paint became, for him, a return to the harbour, a refunding of his roots. He took up residence in his paintings. It’s not very comical. His exuberance is often only a mask. I know that the camera caught certain silences, a certain timidity, which can’t quite hide certain wounds. Solitude, incomprehension, incommunicability… Stop the talk, it’s time to listen and to look at what the camera captured around our friend.
