California Connected and anchor Lisa McRee board an RV emblazoned with the show’s logo as well as the call letters of the ten California PBS stations that air the award-winning newsmagazine. We hit the Golden States’ roads in search of the facts behind the numerous, complex ballot initiatives that californians will be voting on this November. If the Presidential election weren’t enough, Californians are being asked to vote on 16 statewide propositions, local initiatives, state legislature positions and a U.S. Senate race on November 2. In California Connected’s trademark witty, offthe-cuff style, the show features “Propapalooza,” in which different musicians or groups have composed songs from several of the proposition’s pros and cons to music of all styles. Above the roar of conflicting advertising spots touting the pros and cons of each initiative, California Connected deciphers the issues on the ballots, gives the back story on most of them and introduces viewers to candidates and issues about which they might not know.
