“WHAT” As a high-energy, life to air, interactive show in which dialogue is encouraged without confrontational squabbles over issues in popular culture. Joseph Motike, the host, does not pretent to be neutral – he has an opinion on most subjects and lets his viewers known. But he isn´t so strident that he silences people whose opinions may be different. In the season´s premiere, a life nipple piercing was done and viewers were invited to phone in their views of body part adornment, particularly tattoos and piercing. The stick-girl animated segments usually lend comic relief to serious topics. In this show, stick-girl wanted to boldly go where no one had piercing before, but when it came to the critical moment, she decided to get only her ear pierced. The viewer response has been fantastic. High ratings as well as positive comments resulted in the show being run for a full season , instead of half-a-season as originally planned. The phones light up almost as soon as the show goes to the air. Young people want to talk about issues which affect them – WHAT listens gives voices to these people. WHAT´s style of presentation is diverse – it is not only live, but is also documentary, humourous, and phone in. Viewers can react and contribute spontaneously and immediately while the show is on air. Animation and claymation are represented, as well as personal editorials from people who have particular interest in the theme.
