Between two fires

Since January 21st of 1932 El Salvador has been living a “guerilla” (battle) between the dictators and the people who live in misery. The theme is a dramatic program in images and describes in full length the repression of the Guardia Nacional. “Between Two Fires” is the history of a country that has suffered repression and injustice caused by the daily killing of its people in the hands of dictatorial regimes. It is the history of the struggle of the people to get its freedom. Our film shows the different phases of this struggle with scenes that explain by themselves the purpose of our story. This program is a recompilation of material filmed while in El Salvador by Channel 13. This program begins with a scene in which a Mexican journalist is killed while doing his hob. The death of Ignacio Ramires is an example of only one of the thousands that occur daily in this country. This program intends to show the economic, political and social situation of El Salvador, where human rights are not respect.
