“Belly Boat Hustle” is a humorous dance piece about four men who attempt to escape technology and telecommunication by going fishing for the weekend. Businessmen with their staccato, metronomic walks, power-snacking and cell-phones suction-cupped to their ears are the dancers. A group e-mail announces a weekend fishing trip, and the men take their identical rugged-terrain vehicles for a choreographed spin in the country. They slip on hip-waders, attach flippers, slide into doughnut-shaped life preservers and drift onto the lake for a floating choreography, complete with flipped arabesques, fly-fishing rods and the Sylvie Frechette plastic smile.
