In May 2001, when TV1 decided to film a series about life at Zaventem Airport, nobody could have suspected that it was about to enter the most turbulent period of its post-war history. In August 2001, when the crises began to follow each other in rapid succession, the producers decided to change their approach. They began to focus on the everyday life of the airport’s ordinary employees. On November 7 the Belgian national airline, Sabena, was declared bankrupt. This episode depicts the events of November as seen through the eyes of the airport’s ordinary employees.
