Ai-tsao was born into a conservative and exclusionist family. She turned her back on her single mother and eloped with her lover. As a middle-aged widow, Ai-tsao was proud of her role and accomplishment as a mother, until one day she discovered that her son was gay, and her daughter had returned from France with a child born out of wedlock with a French - African.
