On April 22nd 1992, a devastating explosion rocked the city of Guadalajara in Mexico. It was not the first of its kind. It may not be the last. The explosion was caused by faulty underground storage of massive quantities of gasoline in areas where people have settled and built communities. The devastation was extensive, resulting in thousands of dead, wounded and homeless victims. This program documents the event and the efforts by the victims to get answers, dignity and compensation for their losses. They get only rhetoric and eventual brutal treatment by their government at the tent sites they have inhabited since the loss of their homes. The program documents the horrors of a situation where industrial greed and government complacency sees the needs of people as secondary to an acceptance of the industrial flaws and economic aims to those in power.
