A controversial, powerfully subjective documentary on the impotent rage and dread that followed the nuclear disasters at Harrisburg and Chernobyl. Before Harrisburg, it was said that nuclear power was perfectly safe, that accidents were unlikely. After Harrisburg, it was said that living is dangerous anyway. Since Chernobyl, the talk has been of 'acceptable levels' and 'how much death the public will tolerate.' This programme gives voice to people hit by the disasters but regarded as disturbing elements by society: those trying to clarify authorities´ responsibilities, parents in constant uncertainty regarding their children´s lives and health, nuclear physicists who have resigned from their posts. Nuclear-power representatives have harshly criticised this programme for alleged lack of objectivity and for being manipulative. Some TV reviews were highly favourable: 'If no one made personal documentaries, I´d stop watching television, ' wrote one reviewer after seeing the programme. Wormwood is the name of the star in the Bible´s 'Book of Revelations' that portends the destruction of the earth.
