Beginning in September, 1990,”AIDS diary” has been a weekly series on Vancouver’s CBC Evening News. A young doctor with AIDS tells his story directly to camera. There is not script. Usually, there are no edits. Since the series began Peter has gone blind. He talks about his illness from both a personal and a professional point of view. He also discusses issues such as his changing relationship with his parents, his homosexuality, and the reaction to the series itself. “AIDS diary” is an innovative and courageous series about a controversial and often misunderstood subject.
