A special birth

This film by Michel Moreau allows us to share a rather unusual experience, for it’s the true story of something that happened to Guillaume a nine-year-old boy. Unlike most other children, Guillaume became closely involved in following his mother’s maternity. He takes part in the medical examinations, asks everybody questions, and receives a lot of information.As his mother’s body swells and the birth is approaching, he takes on roles that are more and more important in order to help her bear his future babysitter. When the time comes, he is present at the birth, and even holds his mother head. In the ceiling mirror he sees the baby’s head appear and cries for joy.After the child’s birth he continues to share this maternity with his mother. He plays with Isabelle and often gives her the bottle. The film not only shows us how positive the experiment was, but also give us insight into the emotions, the fears and the questions of a child involved in a birth. UNE NAISSANCE APRIVOISEE is a most rewarding documentary.
