The American invasion of Grenada was the top news story of 1983. The abiding element of that story has proven to be the validity of the restrictions imposed upon the Press by the Pentagon. “A Reporter in Granada” is the only documentary film that deals with the subject where it happened and when it happened. Besides a series of interviews/commentaries, the larger dramatic portion of the film is in observation of TIME MAGAZINE correspondent, William Mc Whirter as he arrives on the first Press plane following the invasion an painstakingly pieces together what really happened. Mc Whirter was awarded the Overseas Press Club’s International 1984 Prize for Foreign Reporting for the invasion story he researched in “A Reporter in Grenada”. “A Reporter in Grenada” was shot on location in Grenada during the first ten days following the invasion.
