A Russian tragedy

On November 7, 1975, the anniversary of the Octuber revolution, Valery Sablin, a Soviet Navy captain, stirred the crew of Navy ship “Storejovoi” to insurrection and attempted to address the Soviet people with proclamation where he called the overthrow Breznvev´s regime. This story although drastically distorted had become a plot of world known Tom Clancy´s novel “Hunt for the Red October”. “Russian Tragedy” is a true story of the “Red October”. “RT” had been shown by the 2nd Russian Channel in prime time. The release of “RT” coincided with extremely hot discussions on democratic reforms in Russian and especially on the role of Russian army in internal politics. “RT” created controversial arguments between democrates and rightwingers in Russian press. There were several publications in major newspapers as “Izvestiya”, “Pravda”, “Sovetskaya Rossiya” etc. 2nd National Channel received also a lot pf letters from general public.
