67 Ben Tsvi Road is the address of the only Institute of Pathology in Israel. Each year 2,500 bodies arrive at the institute for investigation as to the cause of death. Needless to say, the bodies sent for autopsy did not die of natural causes. The violence inherent in Israeli sociely erupts ¡n practically every scene. And in this regard, the institute acts as a cruel mirror, placed in the most unflattering light possible. It is a mirror that is perhaps difficult to look into, but it is impossible alll the samne not to be mesmerized by the reality it reflects. The institute, by its very nature, deals with all the íssues society feels the strongest need to repress. The tension between the taboo and permitted, between the acceptable and non-acceptable, is the driving force behind the movie. As well as the very concrete and intrusive invasion in to the human body--a real body, with all its imperfections and flaws, and more human perhaps than those we are accustomed to being bombarded with on our television screens.
