5. B – THEY’RE SPLITTING UP

Jonas has written an essay about that evening when his parents told him, they were splitting up. He is still very sad and worries a lot about his father, who – he thinks – must be very lonely. A lot of the other children in the fifth grade have had experience with divorce and parents quarrelling. “The worst thing about it, is that you have to travel between your mum and dad all the time. There is nothing good about it”, says Nicolai. “I don’t even think I want to have children, when I grow up”, says Alex, “they should not have to endure such sufferings as a divorce!”
