What happens to a little child who is raped by her father before she has reached 7 years? What kind of life has this child, who night after night keeps her breath out of fear that a big, strong man will force his way into her room and commit another act of rape?In this program Mary-Ann Oshaug tells about such a childhood. For ten years, from before she was 7 years old, she was abused by her father. He threatened her to keep silent about it, and not until she as adult came under treatment by a psychiatrist did she dare to tell what she had gone through. Nowadays Mary-Ann uses her experience to help others who have been abused and to do what she can to prevent abuse from taking place. Children should be taught from very early age that they have the right to decide themselves over their own body, she says, and that they have right to say no if somebody will do with them something that they feel to be wrong.
