All American high

Through the eyes of a Finnish exchange student we get a new prspective on those timeless social rituals of America´s favourite institution the high school. We follow Rikki from her first bewildering and lonely day of senior year to her glittering graduation, by which time she has been accepted by the 'popular' crowd. Her school is in a middle- class suburban Southern California beach community- where the Electronics Club is a classroom full of active pinball and video games. The frantic pace of high school life ( accompanied by a lively rock´n roll soundtrack) counterpoints Rikki´s cool and wonderfully sharp observations. We are forced to pause and re-evaluate not only our educational system but also the values and attitudes of those middle-class teenagers who will guide America into the 21st century.
