THE REVERSED MEAL is a “play” for five actors and a television celebrity about some of the Italian futurists. It’s goal is to inform about Futurism while entertaining, using and playing with some of our television codes about documentary and drama forms. It is also an attempt to show some of the ideas being debated in the film without the audience really knowing. It is info-tainment and drama at the same time. The script, written for television by director Morten Thomte, is based on the futurist’s own manifestos, published from 1909 to 1930.The television celebrity Henry Notake (who plays himself in the film) is well known in Norway both for his programs about culture and his many books about food and it’s history.
