In one scene, a young man talksgently of scattering the ashes of his best friends who died of AIDS. There is a pause and then he smiles: 'Talk about fairy dust'. In another, an AIDS patient chides a doting companion: ' Stop being supportive. Just be my friend'. Later, an embittered nurse complains of the AIDS patients who 'could have prevented their illness'. A mid-western mother speaks simply yet eloquently of love and acceptance of her gay son who lays dying. These are but a few of the voices. --at once poingnant, humorous and profound-which explore the emtional impact of AIDS, a substantial realm seldom revealed in media coverage of the crisis. The original play featured a series comic, dramatic and musical sketches about AIDS. The documentary combines excerpts from the play with interviews with the show´s creators.
